We are a family owned company and have been involved in looking after the elderly in the North of England for over 20 years. Over that period we have been proud to say that we have been chosen by many families to care for their loved ones in one of our luxury Care Homes.

St Martins Care Ltd currently operates six Homes in the North East and specialises in only the highest standard of care and five star accommodation for the older person. All of our Homes are purpose built and provide luxurious and homely accommodation.

Each of our Homes has a full-time registered Manager in situ and their prime responsibility is to ensure that our highly trained staff deliver the best possible care to our residents, taking into account their personal needs and wishes.

Our Care

Our CareEach element of care provided by the Home is bespoke. Residents’ specific nutritional, social and healthcare preferences are recorded and incorporated into person-centred care plans.

In addition to great care it is just as important that our residents lead fun and happy lives - a variety of activities are planned every day for those wanting to keep busy. Alternatively we respect those wishing for peace or privacy.

Residential Care

Residential CareResidents are supported so they can continue to enjoy their independence whilst having the assistance and encouragement of staff who provide the care they need at any time of the day. We encourage residents to participate in the social side of living in a home but also respect their need for privacy.

Memory Care

Memory CareSt Martins Care is passionate about caring for people with dementia. Specially designed environments have been created that are safe, engaging and stimulating. Our in house training programme ensures that relevant staff are trained to QCF Level 2/3 in dementia care. We have dedicated activity co-ordinators for residents with memory problems. Activity programmes are designed around real life pursuits such as cooking, gardening, cleaning and individual activity is identified through ‘Life Story Work’.

Our aim is to promote a positive care experience to ensure they continue to live fulfilled enjoyable lives with value, dignity and respect.

Nursing Dementia

We can also offer care to residents who have dementia and need nursing support from specialist nurses (Registered Mental Nurses). Residents with the more advanced stages of dementia often have physical health problems that require qualified nursing care. This specialist care is provided in the recently completed Maple Suite at Woodside Grange.

Respite Care

Respite CareRespite Care is available to individuals requiring a short break from home or convalescence after a treatment in hospital. It is also an option for those uncertain about moving to a care home permanently by offering them the opportunity to ‘experience’ daily life in a home.

Care for the Younger Person with Mental Health Needs

youngPeopleOur care is based on the recovery model which encourages and supports residents to live independent lives. This is achieved by helping them to build on their existing capabilities and to learn new skills. Residents are also encouraged to make their own decisions but are sensitively supported as required.

The Home is part of the local community and therefore offers real life experiences to its residents. We also encourage and support individuals to access education and work opportunities to the town.
