There are several caring roles within St Martins Care that support the delivery of high-quality care across residential, nursing and supported living care settings in the North East.
Care Assistant provides direct care and support to the residents living in our services. This can include a range of support including moving and assisting using specialist equipment, providing support to manage nutrition and hydration, preventing social isolation, support to access the local community and bathing and dressing. Working as part of a team your role is to enable individuals to live well and maintain and improve positive mental health and well-being. You can be providing care and support across a range of settings, including dementia, nursing, learning disabilities and general residential.
Senior Care Assistant supervises a small care team to meet the care and support needs of the residents, this care setting is usually determined by need, for example a dementia suite, general nursing suite and general residential. A key part of the role is medication administration ensuring this is managed safely and in line with regulation and recorded accurately. The Senior Care Assistant role is responsible for the development of care and support plans and making sure these reflect the needs, choices and wishes of the resident.
