At St Martins Care, we understand that deciding if a care home is right for you or choosing a specific care home is a big decision, and you are likely to have many questions. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about our care homes specifically and care homes in general.
Food and dining
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes, all dietary requirements are catered for.
Are the meals cooked at each home?
Yes, each home has its own kitchen, ensuring fresh and nutritious, home cooked meals.
How often is the menu changed?
Our menus differ from week to week, offering a variety and nutritious choices.
Our six care homes
Is there internet access at every home?
Yes, all of our homes have Wi-Fi.
Are there en-suite facilities at every home?
Yes, all of our homes offer en-suite facilities.
Does every care home have a garden?
Yes, all of our homes have lovely gardens for residents and families to enjoy.
Security and safety
What safety and security measures are in place?
All of our homes have key-coded entry and exit, and all equipment is serviced regularly to ensure safety.
What call systems are in place if a resident needs help?
We have a nurse call system in all resident bedrooms, communal areas and bathrooms. Additionally, we have floor sensors and chair sensors for residents at risk of falling.
Experiences
Can I still do my own cleaning and laundry if I want to?
Absolutely, we are huge advocates for supporting our residents with “Lived Experiences” so, if you would still like to get involved with household responsibilities, such as your own cleaning or laundry, or any other daily tasks, we’re really happy to support you with that as we believe it enriches lives and gives people a real purpose whilst living in a care home environment.
Are there activities to do?
Yes! Our care homes each differ in providing a range of activities for our residents to get involved in. Musical theatre shows, magicians, card games, arts and crafts and animal visits are all some activities that residents can experience!

If you or your loved one needs help with daily activities, requires medical support or is feeling isolated at home, a care home might be the best choice as they can provide safety, care and a community feeling.
