We're are ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY !!!!!

Karen says: "I began my career in care in 1992 by accident. I was working as a bailiff for a finance company and also caring for my grandma. Unfortunately my Grandma needed more specialised care and was placed into a nursing home. Each time I visited her, my Grandma would say, she missed me so I applied for the position of care assistant at the home. Sadly my grandma passed away but I knew that I had found my passion caring for the elderly.

Gaining experience and knowledge whilst completing various NVQ qualifications on the way, I applied to Guisborough Manor and what can I say, 14 years down the line and I’m still here, that says it all….. 

I have seen many changes and adapted to them all. I work with fabulous carers and management and I enjoy the challenges each day brings but knowing that me and my team have participated in providing high standards of care and bringing a smile to my residents makes me feel I have done a great job."
