Spooky Season Comes to Park View

Most residents living in a care home have six, seven, or even eight decades of fun Halloween memories behind them—and just because they’re living in a care home doesn’t mean they can’t create new ones along the way.

The festival Halloween symbolised the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead. It was believed by the Celts that on the night of 31st October, ghosts of their dead would revisit the mortal world and large bonfires were lit in each village in order to ward off any evil spirits that may also be at large.

Care homes have the opportunity to make the entire month of October fun, festive, and spooky for their residents. All the residents and care staff have been decorating each floor to symbolise what they like for Halloween. It shows a ‘personality’ for each floor & gets the residents involved as well to remind them of past & fond memories.
